Jay-Z & Dave-Z
Armed with a new laptop (RIP 17" HP, 2005-2010) it's time again to resurrect this blog.
I thought this Jay-Z / Letterman video was really funny; they both came across as very clever, witty dudes.
To complete this thought, another Jay-Z on TV in New York video:

"I Rock with Obama / But I Ain't No Politician"

In honor of our 44th president, obvs. I feel a little like I did after 9/11, where immediately in the aftermath you knew that something historically important had happened. I remain cautiously optimistic that things will improve in the next 4 years, although I respect those that remain highly skeptical with such a left-leaning liberal agenda running the entire American government.
Despite all that, enjoy this promo mix Z-Trip made in Obama's honor. Much respect to Z for releasing the mix for free under a creative commons license.

"FYI: DJ Dan Wilcox is KILLING it on KCRW Right Now"
Dan Wilcox is KILLING it on KCRW, live, as I type this sentence. 1:18 AM Sunday morning, 4/20 2008. Killer tunes, and I am thankful that I live in Los Angeles this morning, driving home.
[Personal highlight: DJ Dangermouse's Grey Album Remix of Jay-Z's "Justify My Thug," one of the few Grey Album tracks that could almost surpass the Black Album original.
Sample lyric:
Plus, I always really enjoyed this fan-made coverwork for the Grey Album.

Sample lyric:
Mr. President, there's drugs in our residence
Tell me what you want me to do; come break bread with us.
Mr. Governor, I swear there's a cover up
Every other corner there's a liquor store - 'f--- is up?
Plus, I always really enjoyed this fan-made coverwork for the Grey Album.
