So if you spend any amount of time on Metacritic, you may have noticed that one of the top reviewed albums of the year is Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds' "Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!!" I've been giving that album a chance lately, and, for the most part, I like what I hear. Nicky Cave is a 51 year-old Australian rocker who, just with his current band (the Bad Seeds) has released 14 albums. His style sounds a little bit like Butthole Surfers and King Missile. Of course, I'm assuming that Butthole Surfers' only song is "Pepper" and King Missile's only song is "Detachable Penis." In other words, he barely ever "sings" so much as he just talks through his lyrics until the chorus. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it does make for a long album. Anyway, check him out with his 2 mega-awesome videos below! By the way, if I hadn't already crowned Danzig's "Mother" as Worst Video Ever, one, or both, of these two would be up for that title. I recommend hitting play then covering your eyes so that you don't hold Mr. Cave's appearance or spastic dance style against his music:
